Targeted Efficacy with Penlac®

Penlac® is applied directly to the site of infection

Penlac® is applied directly to the infected nail. This means that the active ingredient in Penlac®, called ciclopirox, builds up in the layers of your nail as you apply it each day, focusing the proven antifungal medication where it is most effective.

Some systemic medications, such as those taken orally, could have serious side effects as they interact with a greater area of your body. Penlac® is concentrated in one area and has been proven safe. There are no laboratory blood tests required prior to beginning treatment. This makes Penlac® an optimal treatment for those who wish or need to avoid systemic treatments (as advised by your doctor) or those on multiple medications.

Penlac® is indicated in immunocompetent patients with mild to moderate onychomycosis without lunula involvement due to Trichophyton rubrum.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Penlac® is a topical prescription for mild to moderate fungal nail infections. Regular visits to your health care professional for the removal of unattached, infected nails may be required. If you have diabetes, it is important to talk to your health care professional about nail care. The most common side effects are redness around nails, nail shape change, irritation, ingrown toenail and discoloration.
